All ceramic coating services include proper paint preparation to ensure correct bonding and performance.

Starting prices include one stage of paint correction and the selected coating application. The level of paint correction is based on paint condition and discussed prior to service.

Final pricing is determined by vehicle size, paint condition, and the level of correction required.

What to expect

  • Ceramic coating services are performed by appointment only.
Each vehicle is scheduled individually to ensure enough time for proper inspection, preparation, application, and curing. This allows the work to be done correctly without rushing or stacking jobs.

  • An inspection is part of the process.
Before scheduling, we recommend an inspection to evaluate the condition of your paint, discuss coating options, and to make sure that we schedule enough time to make sure your expectations are met. This helps determine the appropriate level of preparation and ensures there are no surprises or delays on service day.

  • Most ceramic coating services require one or more days.
In most cases, the first day is dedicated to preparation, paint correction, and coating application. The vehicle then remains overnight to allow the coating to cure properly. Some vehicles, coatings, or paint conditions may require additional time.

  • Proper Paint preparation is always included.
Every ceramic coating includes at least one stage of machine polishing to refine the paint surface and prepare it for proper bonding. Depending on paint condition and desired results, additional correction stages may be recommended to further reduce swirl marks, oxidation, or other visible defects. This is discussed during the inspection process.

  • Coating is applied to all painted exterior surfaces.
This includes body panels, bumpers, and painted trim. Headlights, taillights, chrome accents, and door jambs are coated where applicable to ensure consistent protection and appearance.

Why Choose HD Automotive Detailing for Ceramic Coatings

Ceramic coating isn’t a rush job

We don’t treat ceramic coatings like quick protection services. Each vehicle is evaluated individually, and every appointment is scheduled with the preparation, application, and cure time it actually needs.

Installed with longevity in mind

Our focus isn’t shortcuts or speed. Coatings are applied with the goal of consistent protection, durability, and results that continue to hold up well after the initial install.

Experience with professional-grade coatings

We’ve spent over 8 years applying a range of professional ceramic coatings and understand how preparation, environment, temperature, and humidity affect the final result. Those factors matter more than most people realize.

Straightforward guidance, no pressure

We’ll walk through your vehicle’s condition and explain which coating options make sense — and which ones don’t. No upselling. No unnecessary add-ons. Just honest recommendations.

Paint Preparation & Correction

Ceramic coatings do not hide defects or repair existing paint damage. Once applied, they preserve the condition of the paint as it exists at that moment. Because of this, proper preparation and paint correction are critical to achieving good results and long-term performance.

The process begins with a thorough hand wash to safely remove surface dirt and debris. From there, the paint is chemically decontaminated to break down bonded contaminants such as road film, industrial fallout, and embedded residue that washing alone cannot remove. Clay bar decontamination is also performed to further refine the surface and ensure the paint is fully clean before polishing begins.

Every ceramic coating service includes at least one stage of machine polishing. This initial correction step refines the paint surface, improves clarity, reduces light defects, and creates the proper foundation for the coating to bond correctly. Skipping or rushing this step compromises both appearance and coating performance.

Depending on the condition of the paint and the desired outcome, additional stages of paint correction may be recommended. These stages focus on further reducing swirl marks, oxidation, and more noticeable defects to improve depth, gloss, and overall finish quality. The level of correction is determined during inspection and discussed in advance so expectations are clear before any work begins.

The goal of paint correction is not perfection, but a noticeable improvement in the overall appearance of the paint while ensuring the best possible bond for the ceramic coating. When done correctly, this process allows the coating to perform as intended while enhancing depth, gloss, and preserving the paint’s condition moving forward.

If you want more detail on paint correction, you can find it on the Paint Correction Services page.

Aftercare & Ongoing Care

Ceramic coatings are durable, but they are not maintenance-free. Proper washing and basic care are important to keep the coating performing and looking the way it should over time.

We recommend:

  • Avoiding automated brush washes

  • Using proper hand-wash methods and safe drying techniques

  • Removing contaminants like bug residue or bird droppings promptly

Annual inspections are required by System X to maintain warranty coverage. These inspections allow us to evaluate the condition of the coating, address any issues early, and ensure it continues to perform as intended. Ceramic coating maintenance is essentially a thorough exterior detail, with the addition of a compatible top coat to refresh the surface and support the underlying coating.

Even without a ceramic coating, most vehicles benefit from a professional exterior detail once per year to address buildup, refresh the finish, and catch small issues before they compound.

We’ll review care guidelines and inspection requirements at pickup so expectations are clear moving forward.

Warranty Information

System X ceramic coatings include manufacturer-backed warranty coverage based on the specific coating applied. Warranty length varies by product and is outlined at the time of service.

To maintain warranty coverage, System X requires annual inspections and proper care of the coated surfaces. These inspections allow coating condition to be documented and any issues to be addressed early.

Warranty coverage is provided by System X and is subject to their terms and maintenance requirements. We’ll review applicable warranty details, inspection requirements, and care guidelines at pickup so expectations are clear.
