About HD Auto Studio
Hi everyone!
My name is Justin Warwick. I am the founder and owner of HD Auto Studio (Formerly HD Automotive Detailing). I started this business in 2017. I didn't have much of a plan when I started this business, I didn't have any sort of financial backing or safety net to help me get started, I just knew that I loved cleaning my own cars, and one day I said to myself "I bet people would pay me to do this" and sure enough they did and they still do!
I am a lifelong Pinckney resident. I was born and raised here, I went to school here, and my kids are being raised here. My roots run deep in this area and I have a strong desire to continue building in this community. I am someone you will likely run into at the grocery store, gas station, local events or just out and about with my kids.
That fact gives me a tremendous amount of pride in the work I do. Knowing that I can run into customers nearly everywhere I go, and not have to worry that they feel scammed or duped by me. It's a very good feeling to have and it helps me feel good about how I operate my business. Sure, I may miss out on a few up-sells or a quick buck here and there, but knowing that I am running my business with honesty and dignity pays off way more in the long run.
Over the years, I have developed a negative attitude towards high pressure, pushy sales tactics. It's everywhere you go, car dealerships, insurance companies, furniture stores, cell phone stores, shops similar to mine, you name it. I have been determined to be the exact opposite. I will never push my customers to spend their hard earned money on a product, or service that I do not feel is the right fit for them and their vehicle. I want you to feel confident in your purchase, and I won't blow your phone up wondering why you haven't booked yet. I will leave that to the high pressure sales people of the world. I will continue to try to under promise and over deliver.
At the end of the day, we are all human. I make mistakes, my employees make mistakes, nothing is perfect, and we all fall short at times, including me. With that said, I will ALWAYS do whatever it takes to make sure that my customers leave here happy. I love feedback, positive or negative, as long as it's in a constructive manner. Did we miss a spot? Let us fix it! Did you wish something had been done better? Let us fix it! Without happy customers, this business doesn't exist! About our Services.
The Product matters, but the installer matters more.
When it comes to window tint, paint protection film, and ceramic coatings, the product being used matters, but it is only part of the equation. Preparation, installation environment, experience, and the skill of the installer have an even greater effect on the finished result.
Window Tinting
We install LLumar window tint. LLumar is one of the leading manufacturers of automotive window film and paint protection film. The company has a long history in the industry and stands behind its products with strong manufacturer warranties. We chose LLumar because it provides consistent quality, dependable performance, and several film options for different vehicles, budgets, and heat rejection needs.
Paint Protection Film
We also install LLumar Platinum Paint Protection Film. We chose it for many of the same reasons. It provides consistent quality, proven performance, strong manufacturer support, and a 10 year limited manufacturer warranty. The quality of the film is important, but PPF is only as good as the preparation and installation behind it. Preparing the paint, planning the coverage, positioning the film, and properly finishing the edges all have a major effect on how the installation looks and performs.
Ceramic Coatings
We install System X ceramic coatings. I applied my first ceramic coating in 2018, although it was from a different manufacturer. Since then, I have worked with several brands while searching for the best combination of performance, customer support, and value for my customers.
System X earned its place in our shop because it offers proven products, several levels of protection, and strong support for both installers and vehicle owners.
There are plenty of companies making good products, along with some making bad ones. Even the best window film, paint protection film, or ceramic coating cannot make up for poor preparation or an inexperienced installer. Over the years, we have performed these services on thousands of vehicles. I have also seen tint, coatings, and PPF installations that clearly suffered from poor preparation, an unsuitable work environment, or a lack of experience.
I can admit that I had to learn too. If I saw some of my earliest tint installations today, they would probably make me cringe. Everyone has to start somewhere, but my "starting out" phase was a long time ago. Today, we have nearly a decade of experience installing window tint, paint protection film, and ceramic coatings. During that time, I have worked on just about every type of vehicle and dealt with nearly every installation challenge imaginable.
From Mobile services to a four bay shop.
Before HD Auto Studio had a permanent location, I worked almost everywhere imaginable. I installed products in driveways, workplaces, small garages, direct sunlight, windy conditions, summer heat, and winter temperatures. Some of those conditions were far from ideal. A dirt driveway on a windy day will almost never produce the cleanest possible tint installation. Working in tight garages with poor lighting also made every part of the job more difficult.
In hindsight, those experiences were great teachers. They taught me how to solve problems, adapt to difficult situations, and work with whatever conditions were available. That experience helped me build a strong foundation and gave me a head start when I finally moved into a permanent shop.
I will always respect the creativity and determination required to operate as a mobile installer. I also learned firsthand that mobile conditions cannot consistently match the results possible inside a clean, well lit, climate controlled facility.
That is why HD Auto Studio no longer offers mobile services. Today, our window tint, paint protection film, and ceramic coating services are completed inside our four bay shop in Whitmore Lake, Michigan. This allows us to control the environment and give each vehicle the proper conditions for the work being performed.
